How To Upload Video on YouTube from Mobile

YouTube, ranked as the second most popular site in the world, is a well-known platform for video-sharing. It offers a wide range of user-generated videos that allows users to like, comment, and share the videos on the site. If you’re thinking about becoming an internet sensational, an online educator, or a social media influencer, YouTube is the best way to reach numerous viewers.

The site offers users all kinds of opportunity in uploading their videos. It is free and supports mobile and computer devices. Uploading a video to YouTube may seem a bit complicated and hassle for first-timers. However, you can now upload a video to YouTube with the use of your mobile phone, thereby eliminating the use of a computer.

1. Uploading a Video on YouTube from iPhone/iPad

A. Through the YouTube App

Step 1:  Your first step is to launch your YouTube app

If you haven’t downloaded it yet, go to the App Store.

Step 2: You will first need to set up a Google account

If you already have, continue on this step. If not, create one first in Google. Once you’re done, proceed to YouTube and sign in.

If you have multiple accounts saved on your device, choose your desired account for uploading. You’re now signed in. To make sure, tap on the menu bar and check the account located at the top. If the account is correct, you’re good to go.

Step 3: Click the menu icon located at the top left corner

Several options will appear but tap on the upload icon located beside to “My Channel.” Your camera roll will appear. Choose the video you want to upload.

Step 4: All videos in YouTube needs a title

Give your video a title and a description. If you wish to add a category, YouTube provides an option. Once you’re done, click the upload icon located on the upper right hand corner.

That’s the last step in uploading a video to YouTube from your iPhone through the YouTube app. Just wait for some time until your video gets uploaded.

B. Through the Camera Roll

Step 1: Open your camera roll and select the video you wish to upload

Click the share icon from the bottom left corner. Options to share your video will appear, choose YouTube. If you are not logged in, you will be asked to sign in to your account. If you have multiple accounts, choose the suitable one.

Step 2: The next step is to assign a title to your video

You’re also given an opportunity to assign a brief description, choose your video quality, put a category, and selecting its privacy. These are optional.

Step 3: Once you’re done with step three, click the publish button

That’s the last step! Now, wait for your video to get uploaded.

2. Uploading a Video on Youtube from Android

A. Through the YouTube App

Step 1: The steps in uploading from an android are similar to uploading a video from an iPhone/iPad. The first step is to launch the YouTube app. If you don’t have a YouTube app on your phone, download the app from the Play Store.

Step 2: Click the menu icon, the icon with three horizontal lines located at top left corner. If you are going to upload a video to YouTube for the first time, you will have to sign in. If you do not have a YouTube account, create a Google account first then proceed to these steps. Once done, sign in to YouTube and fill out the required forms.

If you have various YouTube accounts signed in on your phone, pick the appropriate one for uploading your video. If you want to make sure that you’re signed in to your preferred account, click the menu icon then look at the top. If you see your username, you’re signed up.

Step 3: Stay at the menu window then tap the uploads option from the displayed list. If you are going to upload a video to YouTube for the first time, the upload page will display a text saying “No uploads found.” Otherwise, a list of uploaded videos is displayed.

Step 4: On the upload page, click the upload icon located at the top-right corner. Once done, all the videos on your phone gallery will be displayed. Choose the video you want to upload.

If your desired video is not on the page, go to the menu icon. It gives you three options to choose from; to upload from your phone’s videos, downloads, or your phone’s internal storage.

Step 5: After choosing your video, enter a title and an optional brief description in its respective fields. Under the privacy section, YouTube lets you choose from three options: public, unlisted, and private. Select public if you want your video to be findable through the search button and can be seen by anyone. The unlisted option limits your viewers. The viewers can only watch your video through a link. If you want to keep your video to yourself, choose the private button.

The tags section lets you input appropriate keywords and categories related to the video. It is optional. Once you have completed every field, click the upload button located at the top-right corner of the page. This is the last step in uploading a video to YouTube from an android. Your video will start uploading and now wait for some time until the video gets uploaded.

B. Through the Phone’s Gallery

Step 1: Open your phone’s gallery then view the video you want to upload. Tap on the share button then choose YouTube from the several options.

Step 2: Assign a video title and fill out the form. There are other options like typing a brief description, specify whether to make it public, private, or unlisted, add tags, and other settings.

Step 3: After assigning your video’s settings, click the upload button. Once the video uploads, you will return to the gallery. Now, wait for the video to be uploaded. You can check its progress in your notifications. Once it is successfully uploaded, a notification will appear.

3. Uploading a Video on YouTube from a Windows Phone

A. Through the YouTube App

Step 1: Open the YouTube app. If you don’t have a YouTube application on your phone, install it directly from the Windows Phone Store.

Step 2: Once the YouTube app is running, click the video icon then browse through your albums. Choose your desired video.

Step 3: After selecting your video, a form will appear. Fill in the required fields. Assign a title and a brief description of your video. You can also choose the category, tags, and the visibility of your video. Mostly, these fields are optional except for the title and privacy section. You can choose among public, unlisted, and private. If you don’t want to limit your video from anybody, select “public.” Choosing the unlisted setting keeps your video from being findable through searching. Your viewer should have the direct link instead to watch your video; this gives you control over your viewers. Lastly, if you want to keep your video for yourself, then the private setting is perfect for you.

Step 4: You’re almost done. Once you’ve assigned information for the fields, click the upload icon. Enter your YouTube account details if asked. Your video will now start uploading. YouTube allows you to see your video’s progress in a status bar. Once successfully uploaded, you will receive a notification.

B. Through Internet Explorer

Step 1: Launch the Internet Explorer and log in to your Google account. Once done, open youtube.com/upload.

Step 2: The upload page will appear. Click the big arrow button with a gray background. Select the video you wish to upload. Assign the video’s title and other settings. You can input a description, select your video’s privacy, add tags, and other settings.

Step 3: Once done with step three, your video will start to upload. Wait for your video to get uploaded. Do not browse from the page or lock the screen or else it will fail.
